Travel day to Acadia National Park, Maine

We left Prince Edward Island early this morning. It was sad to go but we had more destinations to look forward to. We were on our way back to Maine. This time we were headed for Acadia National Park.

Once we got close, we looked for a place to eat lunch. We found this cute “hole in a wall” Lobster/BBQ place. I know that sounds like an odd combination but it was delicious. The staff let the kids touch live lobsters.  It was very pricey but very good.

We got to our campsite in the early afternoon. I really love the area. We are directly across the street from Bass Harbor Lighthouse. It is amazing.

After we ate some slow cooker chili this evening, Jason watched the kids while I walked to the lighthouse to capture some pictures. It was a little under a mile walk. I, along with many other tourists, caught it as the sun was setting. It is beautiful! Maine’s coast is so different from Prince Edward Island but they are both equally breathtaking.

If only I could describe to you the smell of the Acadian coast, the cool crisp wind and the panoramic views. These pictures don’t do it justice.
