Katy’s Magic Moments Trip: Day 1

 We made it to Arizona!

Our flight was at 7:05am out of Atlanta. We would have had to leave our house at 1am, because of the time change and having two girls in wheelchairs, so we decided to get a hotel at the airport. That made everything so much easier.

We were worried that our rental vehicle in Phoenix couldn’t hold two wheelchairs and luggage, so we only brought carry-ons. Sure enough, the rental car company didn’t have a suburban so we had to make an Expedition Max work. We had to break down the wheelchairs to fit.

Our Atlanta hotel was right beside the skytrain.

The kids did great! It’s been many years since they’ve flown.

In Phoenix, it was 84 degrees and there were cacti everywhere. It took us 3 hours to drive to Flagstaff. Once we got there, it was cool and windy and 66 degrees.

We are staying in an Airbnb in the Flagstaff area. It is centrally located to everything we plan to do. Here are our plans for our days here. 

Day 2: Monument Valley

Day 3: Sedona and Montezuma’s Castle

Day 4: Grand Canyon

Day 5: Travel home
