North Shore
Today we visited Green Gables. We were able to meet Anne herself (Callie wasn’t too sure about it.) The girl acting out Anne was so good. She totally played the part. She was talking non-stop and she even told Katy that she has a friend named Katie who lives in a mirror.

After Green Gables, we went to Cavendish Beach. It is in the Prince Edward Island National Park. It was absolutely stunning. I could have spent all day there.

This floating boardwalk was on the opposite side of the sand dunes from the beach.
The lake use to be opened up to the sea but over time the sand dunes grew bigger and separated it. It is now a fresh water lake. This is the lake that inspired the “Lake of Shining Waters” in L.M. Montgomery’s “Anne of Green Gables”. I can see why L.M. Montgomery loved this island so much.
The red cliffs are so beautiful! The landscape is, as L.M. Montgomery put it in her journals, all ruby, emerald and sapphire...the most stunning colours of earth, sea and sky.
This is the Covehead Lighthouse. I believe this is my favorite out of all the lighthouses on the island. The white and red look so stunning against the colors of the scenery.
Our last stop on our drive across the north shore was the Dalvay by the Sea Hotel. This beautiful building was featured in Kevin Sullivan’s Anne of Avonlea and also in the Tales from Avonlea series.

Once we got back to the campsite, we had dinner. We drank Raspberry Cordial, in honor of Anne. This was the best slow cooker meal I’ve made on the trip, Chicken Taquitos. The inside mixture cooked all day while we were gone. Then I rolled them up, sprinkled cheese on top and baked 15 minutes.

We ended the day with a hayride at our campground and a little bike riding.
