Travel day to eastern Tennessee

We left Williamsburg early this morning. The reason we left early was to avoid the traffic. We were successful and made great time.

I saw my first barn quilt in real life today. Someday I’m going to have one on our barn.

The other day on a Facebook post, Jason made it known that he had never eaten at Taco Bell. A couple of folks were astonished. So, he decided to try it out for lunch today. Well, he didn’t like it at all. He left with heartburn and he said that he would never be back again.

At lunch, we called our campground to see if they’d allow us to check-in early. They said we could for a hefty fee so we decided to go kill some time (this is the bad thing about staying at a chain campground as opposed to a privately own one.) We went to Bass Pro Shops and to Books a Million.

Our campground is very nice. We have a patio and chairs this time. There is a huge jump pillow and playground for the kids. The laundry is great. I found out that the old “Wishy Washy” dryers from like the 70s or 80s?? are amazing. This is the second site that has had them and they dry a whole load of laundry in under 30 minutes.

I won’t be posting until later this week. Our last week of travel will be slow. We are staying at a lakeside campground in Nashville. I plan on working on my continuing education and getting the kids back into a routine.

We are entering our fourth week of traveling. Going into it, I tried not to have any expectations. For the most part it has been wonderful. The kids have been content on our travel days. We have used technology, and I feel a little guilty, but it keeps them entertained on the long trips. Our exploring days have been so much fun and I am so grateful to have been given this opportunity to see such amazing scenery.
