On the road again...
We have begun our month long adventure! Our first stop is Greenville, SC. We’ll be here 5 days while Jason works at one of his sites.
Many years ago, I accompanied Jason on one of his work trips to Greenville. I fell in love with the city. When you see the pictures, you’ll see why.
Our trip to South Carolina went very well. I didn’t elaborate on the last post, but our last trip from Memphis to home was terrible. Clark didn’t handle the trip well and he was very unhappy. So we made some changes and we planned a lot of entertainment for the kids this time. It worked for our first travel day. Let’s just hope it continues to work for the many travel days to come.
I decided to pack our lunch on our travel days. We found a perfect spot for a picnic on the way up. The kids enjoyed this so much more than sitting in a restaurant.
We have been very pleased with our campground here. It is very shaded and it is right beside a creek.
On our first full day, we decided to explore downtown Greenville. On the way, we passed Furman University. I had heard that it had a beautiful campus, so we decided to check it out.
After that, we headed to downtown. What I love about Greenville is that they have this gorgeous park right downtown.
This is where we had our picnic lunch. It was beautiful! After lunch, it was getting so hot outside. So we found us a popcicle stand.
Then we found an old fashioned General Store that sold tons of candy. Of course, we had to get some.
Then we found a really neat toy store.
On Main Street there are 9 mice hidden along the sidewalk. We only found 8 (well maybe only 7, one of them was inside a store window.)
We ended our time downtown at the splash pad. I told the kids to not get too wet. Well, that didn’t exactly happen.
